Our one and only worker(Rut) got into a motorcycle accident a few days ago. She was on her way back from a small shopping trip with her two children Bung Ya and Bung Fan and also Thoy. They were run off the road by a truck being passed by another truck. The boy Bung Fan has a broken leg and she has stitches under her jaw and other lacerations to her face. The other two had mild injuries. Thank God it was not worse.
That makes 3 accidents for us in 4 months. I think someone is working overtime to make trouble for us. Please keep us in prayer for safety and protection. If satan is after us then we know we are on the right track. He doesn’t waste time with those who are not a threat.
I wish there was a way I could explain what it is we do here that makes satan go after us like he does. Phimpha never gets a day off or even a few hours off anymore. There are so many calling her and she is speaking to people all the time, encouraging them and turning many to Christ. The Holy Spirit is working close with her and many see the miracles. It gets there attention. She is never alone no matter where she is or where she goes. There are many nights she gets home late and someone is waiting to talk to her about their particular problem. Some are Christians and some are not, but will be after talking to her. She uses the bible to help them out of any problem or trouble they have. When they follow the advice it works, and amazes them. They want to know more about the living God who cares for them. She never passes up an opportunity to share Christ with others. She is a walking talking witness for Christ. I am blessed to be here and a small part of it. Neither of us have anything on this world but we are blessed beyond belief from the work we do. Our biggest regret is not being able to reach more, but I think God has a plan for that.
How about you? Are you going to heaven when you die? I don’t think I was up till a few years ago. Still not certain but I keep praying and trying to follow what God wants for me. I know he put me here and I know he put Phimpha and I together and I know this is the work He had predestined us for. What an amazing road to get here. I miss my kids and grand kids and family back in the states. How did I ever end up living in Thailand. It all happened so quick. If God is calling you do not wait or say, “but what about…. just go out and do what He is putting in your heart to do. Don’t worry or think about all the possibilities or where you are going to get the money to go. Just start moving in that direction and He will show the way. It is up to God to put the burden in our hearts. It is up to us to have enough belief in everything we have read and experienced to know that the God who created the universe can certainly handle the problems we think need to be addressed before we make a move. Have FAITH and do. If we wait for everything to be right then we have no faith and we belittle God. We Americans are a selfish people. No one wants to say they are selfish and most will never see it. I certainly did not. But God has opened my eyes these last 6 years.  The less you have the more you realize you really didn’t need it to begin with. Once the stuff is gone then the want leaves too. Being here where I see so much need helps with the selfishness. I have a soft bed and pillow and I eat everyday for now, so what more do I need. Many times I feel guilty with the nice bed and room I have. I really splurge when I buy a Dairy Queen. Maybe it’s one of the food groups. We can justify anything.

Joy and Persecution

Prayer Warriors
I wanted to update the prayer request. Sorry it took so long but I have good news for the little girl and her brother. Phimpha stopped there the other night. She had an appointment to talk to the older sister of the mother of the girl. Phimpha was amazed when she walked into the house. It was cleaned up. The little boy had been waiting for her to arrive and came running out to see her. He had a couple of neighbor boys that he wanted her to meet. The little girl was not around. She did not see the step father so she asked the boy where he was and he took her to him. The family had been divided and now that they were coming back together the stepfather had been pushed out to a smaller house. Phimpha talked with him and asked him to go to the hospital with her today to get his blood checked for Aids. She also asked if they could bring the boy along. He said it was up to her and what she thought best. That is a huge change for him. With the family back together the little girl and boy might be able to stay there, where where they belong, and still get the care they need. She is also going to talk to the older sister to get the girl in to be tested. Once the results are back and everyone is informed we will see what decisions the family will make.
Phimpha and David spent 2 nights in Cambodia at Sow’s families home. She said one cannot imagine how poor the living conditions are. She said you  cannot call it a house or even a shack, just a shelter of sorts. Fourteen people in a small shelter and no bathroom. Dried feces laying around the property and the smell is the worst. No running water.
The sister had been offered to the prophesying spirit as a child. She can read palms and see colors on peoples forehead.  Different colors of their being. Her mother would use her to tell fortunes for money. As she got older she tried many years to get away from it but she could not, and her mother kept pushing her to do it for the money. She did not wait for Phimpha to come and took all the idols out of the house and burned them with the garbage  The  spirit made her so sick she could barely move. Phimpha was trying hard to get across the border but satan was working over time to stop her. Finally late in the afternoon they made it across. The sick sister had talked to Phimpha on the phone, pleading for help. After talking and praying by phone the spirit released her. When Phimpha got there the sister took one look at her and said, “You are so white.” Phimpha talked to her and the family and after prayer the spirit left her. Now after so many years she said she feels so free. She can not see the colors on the people anymore and she is so happy about it. I wish the story was all good but they are already being persecuted for their new faith in Christ. About 4 of them have given there life to Christ. The main income of the family has been sewing garments at home for a wealthy woman who sells them. The woman does not want them to become Christian or improve themselves. She wants to keep them poor and working for her. She was so mad about their new faith she sent her workers to the house the next day and took out the sewing machine and all the materials. She said let your God feed you. She also said if Phimpha comes back she will tell the authorities to arrest her. Being a wealthy person she has the power to do it. Phimpha said, “Tell her I will be back soon.”  So keep the family in prayer. They are going to have to choose between life or the world. Pray that God will bless them in their new faith and be a light for the poor community around them. Ya might want to throw in a little prayer for Phimpha and David when they go back. I am not worried  about Phimpha because I know God will protect her but not sure about David yet. I hope God is not going to test his faith the hard way.

Prayers

Prayer Warriors

Prayer request for protection from evil that Phimpha is going
after today. Sow’s family lives just across the border in Cambodia.
Because of Sow and her testimonies they have all turned to Christ and
the spirits they have been worshiping for many years are not happy.
They are causing all kinds of trouble in the household. Sows sister
did not wait till Phimpha arrived and started to remove all the
objects of worship from the house. Evil has her so sick right now she
can barley move. Phimpha and David are on there way there now to kick
out the spirits. From past experience Phimpha knows the evil can not
cause a problem to her but they will attack anyone they can associated
to her so pray for protection for all our children and everyone in
both families. Sounds like it is going to be a battle but we know it
is one that satan cannot win. God is with us and through prayer will
protect all around us.

Thank You
Rodney and Phimpha and all involved.

The Rest of The Story

I finally feel like I can finish the story of the day Phimpha, David and Lek got into an accident while traveling up north.  They left at 3 am and it was now 7:30 am. It was a four lane road and usually we travel fast on it, but the light rain had slowed traffic down. There was a small tractor coming up out of the meridian and he popped up onto the shoulder so everyone braked not knowing if he would cross immediately or not.  Phimpha was looking the other way for a couple of seconds and when she looked back and seen all tail lights she hit the brakes a little to hard. The truck immediately spun around and they were now traveling backwards toward the ditch. She looked  over at David in the passenger seat and back at Lek in the back and prayed “God I am OK to die but save them.” Lek was also praying “God I am not a good person but Phimpha is, please save her.” David judging the speed figured there might be some broken bones but nothing to serious. Phimpha looked over to her right and seen that the ditch was very steep with a cement lined canal at the bottom. She knew the truck would roll and figured she would die there. What she did not see was the tree coming up behind her on the shoulder of the road. They hit it hard and the force crushed that side of the truck but also sent them on a new course  as they continued backwards. They went over the driveway of a gas station and came to rest on the other side hung up on a culvert. Phimpha had some whiplash but other than that there were no injuries. The tree had saved them from rolling over. They got out and were surveying the damage and talking to the crowd of people around them. About 10 minutes later Phimpha got a call from a friend of hers who knew they were traveling and was asking if they were OK. Phimpha said they were fine but did not tell her what had just happened. Her friend said she had awaken earlier and had decided to pray for them. She closed her eyes and seen our truck with a dark being stand next to the drivers side, just staring at it. She said she could see in his eyes that he wanted to kill Phimpha so she began to pray hard. She prayed and prayed but he would not leave, just kept looking at the truck, so she decided to call and see if they were OK  Phimpha reassured her they were OK but did not tell her about the accident. Being reassured her friend said goodbye. After about 15 minutes she called back and said the dark figure had left but he was real mad when he went. Phimpha listened and said OK but did not tell her about the accident till the next day.
We never know the battle that is always going on around us. How much of what happens is a direct result from evil? I do not know. But one thing comes to mind, and that is the power of prayer. I am constantly asking for prayers for strength and wisdom and safety. If God puts a burden into you heart to pray for someone do not delay.
I know I have said it many times but Phimpha’s work load has gotten heavier still. Pray for strength for her. Her heart is breaking from the load and from the case of the 11 year old girl and her 12 year old step brother. I will not go into a lot of detail but she believes the boy has aids and the girl too from  the stepfathers abuse. Step dad has it, so the girls mother does too. None of them have been tested yet but she has worked a lot with HIV and also the spirit is opening many things to her. She is working to get a court order to take the kids to the hospital for testing. She is on her way there now to visit them again. Most likely we will end up with the children as everything is revealed. It is heart breaking case on top of a very heavy workload.
I am working mostly at home, trying to get the kitchen trusses welded up, also working to get the power lines off the ground and babysitting as needed. With the truck in the body shop we are not going to preschool so three toddlers are under feet a lot.
We have decided to not have a Christmas party for the village this year. Phimpha prayed about it and feels it is not necessary. I second that.
I am going to cut this here and get it out before I get to tired.  So much more to say but what the heck. Why don’t ya just come over and see for yourself. I’ll leave the light on for ya.
