The Love of God. A true Story

How much does God love US?

Way more than we love ourselves. How do I know that? Because we will make decisions that will hurt us. God will not do that to us. He only wants what is best for us. He loves us so much and wants to give us gifts to make us happy. He wants a close personal relationship with us and has gone to great lengths to give it to us for free. Sadly most deny the most awesome gift we could ever receive. Not just a onetime gift. It is the gift of eternity. More joy than we can ever imagine and yet we do not choose to take it.  We think we know what is best for us. Can we create one grain of sand with our knowledge or wisdom? Then how can we think we know more than the creator. All that is seen He created by speaking. Many deny Him because they think He does not exist. The world with all its infinite intricacies just happen by chance? The universe just happen on its own? Believe the lie and die the second death. He wants each one of us there with Him in paradise and He goes to extreme measure to give us the chance to accept His love for us. To choose life eternal.

A True Story from a few days ago.

I came home from town the other day and seen a large delivery truck parked in the driveway. Kind of took me by surprise. I came walking up to the house and Phimpha was just saying goodbye to the driver. She told him who I was. We exchanged greetings and he left. I asked her what the driver wanted. The driver works for the trucking company and he runs between Bangkok and the border town called Aranyaprathet, which is about an hour and a half from us. He makes deliveries there and the road he uses goes right in front of our house. Some friends of his wanted to go to Aranyaprathet and asked him to find out how they could get there by bus.  As he was driving up this way that day he saw a lady standing on the side of the road waiting for a bus. He stopped to ask her which bus she was waiting for and where it was from. The lady just happened to be Lek, who lives with us and was on her way back to our place. After she had explained to him how to take the bus from Bangkok to Aranyaprathet he asked her where she was going? Then asked her if she wanted to ride with him, because he was passing right in front of our place. So she got in and they drove on, chatting some as they went. He stopped on the road out front ready to drop her off. After seeing our unfinished kitchen project and our unusually big dorm style house he asked what we were building. She explained that we are a children’s home and that Phimpha is the director. After talking a bit he said: Can I speak to her?” She said: “Sure if she is home.” So he drove up into the yard and parked. Phimpha walked up to meet him and God brought up in her heart the beginning of the verse from Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.  She did not speak it to him immediately of course because they had never met before. They sat down and he started asking questions. She kept answering his questions but the words kept coming up stronger and stronger in her heart till finally she said: “God wants you to know, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” He stopped and looked at her and said: My mother wanted to abort me but was afraid it would hurt so she gave me birth. But she always told me she never wanted me. She gave me little love. He was the outcast in his family.  Then he began to open his heart and they talked for quite some time. She told him about the love of God. He said he had gone to church for about a month, 10 years ago, and was all excited about what he had heard. He came home and told his family and they forced him to do many things and put tattoos on his body of pictures used in black magic. They offered him up to other spirits. He said all she was telling him was amazing but he did not think God would ever forgive him now because it was 10 years ago and he had these tattoos all over his body. She told him God wanted him to come back to Him. That is why he ended up where he was now.  After a while he said he needed to get going but would stop again to talk to her. To be polite she needed to ask him his name but the Holy Spirit told her: “No. Do not ask.” She thought that was strange. Then the words from Matthew 5:9 came up in her heart, so she spoke out. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.  He looked at her strangely. He said: “My name is Santi. She spoke to him in Thai of course, and the name for peacemaker in Thai is Santi. God wanted to show him that He still loved him. That he was still His child. He said: How can you know these things about me? Are you a fortuneteller?” She said: “No. I know nothing. But the Holy Spirit knows all.”

So do you believe all of that was just a coincidence? I pray not.

It is how much God loves each of us, and how much He wants us, to be with Him. He is waiting and beckoning to us. All we need to do is accept and receive the only gift that matters in this world. The gift of eternity with Him.
