Nothing and Everything

Don’t know how else to say it. Daily Life maybe.

We were supposed to take a break this week. At least that is what Phimpha said was going to happen last week. Well after Thursday we kind of had a break. I worked on the building taping the sheet rock. Man am I slow. But, keep plug away where and when I can. Our help, Anun, hurt his wrist and now has no strength in it. I think he may have torn a muscle or tore a tendon. We will get him to the hospital as soon as we get enough to pay for the doc. He was lifting Sonuk. The man who lives with us and had the back operations. Sonuk can not walk and has to be carried to the bathroom and bathed etc.. Sonuk is now in the hospital for a month where they will try to get him motivated to walk. Anyway with Anun out of action for a while, the kids dorm is on hold unless I’m around. Got one room done (as far as I can without a door frame)and working on another.

The rains have let up some. It is definitely drying out now. We should be into the dry season now. The air feels different, a little less humid maybe but hotter. Still rain around but not the quantities we had been getting. A lot of people’s homes were under water and I am sure many still are but I think the worst is over. At least that is my opinion. One good thing about the houses here is most do not have any insulation or sheet rock to get destroyed by the flooding. They are
mostly cement, block, or wood. When the water goes down they dry out and are still OK. Mind you it is a mess but at least they do not have to tear out and replace interior walls like in the cold weather climates.

The kid youth camp went real good. Thirty kids, five days long. She gave them a diploma at the end. It was a camp to teach them how to be polite to others with the Bible as the example. They all had a good time. They met today after church to start planning for the Christmas party. Not sure what is up, but knowing Phimpha it will be good and involve anyone around who wants to come.

Our family has shrink a lot a couple of weeks ago. The lady from the rape case who had been staying with us the last 8 months moved back home taking the 4 kids with her. Then Jom, one of our kids that has been with us 3 years moved back down south. Him and his sister had been with us because their Mom traveled with her new husband from job to job. She now has a place to stay and a job cooking so he went back to his mother, but his sister (June) is still with us. Her mother said she can not control her and she minds better for us, so she will stay here. It is sad to see him go, but he will be back on school vacations. He came as a small chubby kid and is leaving as a tall slender young man. I think he grew a foot and a half when he was with us. Children are always better with their real parents, if the parents are good. We raise and care for the ones God send us then if it is time for them to go we let go.

Sorry gotta run, got kids waiting for me.

Blessings to All

Prayers and Thanks!

Hi Everyone

I just feel like I need to Thank all of you that keep us in
Prayer and also to those who support us financially. Being out here in
the front lines we get a lot of publicity for what we do but we are
just the tool. Without everyone that Pray’s and supports us we are
dead in the water, so to speak. Without God!! we can do nothing.
Without Prayers for protection, I know we would both be dead by now
because of the many threats over the years. With out donations we can
do little to help those that He sends to us. We feel like we struggle
a lot, but we are still here doing what we can for God. If you support
us through prayer or donations you are a part of His Ministry. Many
like to give us the glory for what we do but you are the ones who
help to plant the seeds and bring them to Christ. God does not credit
it to us. The credit is given, by God, to the many people working
together that make this ministry happen. You all work behind the
scenes to hold us up. Because you answer his calling in your hearts
there are many being saved. It seems that wherever Phimpha goes out
and speaks people and church members are getting hope and
encouragement and turning to God. We know it is because of the power
of the Holy Spirit touching them. It is amazing how many are being
affected by His ministry and it is credited to you all for His
kingdom. At the same time the persecution we are facing from others
has been on the increase, so we know satan is not happy with us. He is
doing everything in his power to side track us and wear us down. He
has attacked us personally and is also attacking our children’s home
any way he can. He wants it to fail and for us to run away. He is a
looser and though we are tired we know we are in His will, so we
continue the fight.

Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.

God said, “No Way”

Getting tired of these updates?
The day after I sent out my last update about using tithe money
to pay for a ticket home to MN for Phimpha and I, the Spirit woke me
at 4 am and said no go with that scheme of mine. Basically he said I
can not use tithe money for myself and still call it tithe. He quickly
brought to mind Mathew 15 where Jesus is asking the Pharisees about
using money for mom and dad and calling it money for God. (Corban.) So
we will have to wait for another way to get home. It is a good lesson
for me when I think I am in Gods will but really not listening and
testing it against the Bible standards. If we want to take a little
every month and call it salary that is OK but not tithe. I am
surprised nobody called me on that. It is OK to let Christians know
they are not following Gods road. Keeps us on the straight and narrow.
My friend Jim called last night and said Delta has suspended
flights to Bangkok till the 14th or so because of the flooding. If you
were planning to come see us then you will have to wait. Actually we
do have a volunteer coming in on the 16th. We are praying she makes
the deadline. She probably leaves from the states on the 14th. The
waters are still high around the city and most of Bangkok is or will
be underwater. They say the airport will be OK just hard to get to.
Perhaps building on a river delta was not a good idea.
Anyway I will keep this short. I just felt I had to let you all
know. Not often I here the Spirit clearly.

Blessings to all.
Rodney and Phimpha

In my last update I thought the flooding would let up, but boy was I wrong. I hear the river in Bangkok is rising higher and higher. It is not raining around us but not so up north. The problem is the dams up stream were ordered to hold their water to slow the flooding below them. But then the rains increased and now the dams are way above capacity so they must release a lot of water to compensate for the runoff still entering the reservoirs, so the river is now flooding worse than if they would have not held the water in the first place. At least that is my explanation of what I think is going on. Man messing with Gods design again. Many are under water and many factories closed. The people in the flooded area’s can not get food
because the trucks can not get into town to deliver in the usual places. Many are evacuating to dry ground. The markets near us are OK because we are in a farming community but many of the stores way out of Bangkok can not get resupplied. Their shelves are mostly empty.

With factories flooded no product is going out and not roads to deliver on even if there was product. It is a real mess. I am sure it will close many businesses. Most of the Government offices in the country are closed, and the workers ordered to help with food and sand bagging. All we can do is Pray. We had ordered food for some people in the flooded area but they called before we got it, to say they had to evacuate. The army and police and government workers are evacuating many as the water is expected to rise further. We at Timothy house have food in the area, but little money to buy it and the people in Bangkok have little money and nothing to buy. As usual when people are suffering they band together and help each other where they can. We are not directly involved with the relief efforts due to being 3 hours away. Many of the major freeways are now closed as well. The airport is still open and accessible.

I have heard that it is possible to transfer sky miles from one person to another. I did not know that. So Being we have not received anything yet for a trip home for Phimpha and I, I was hoping maybe some of you have some sky miles laying around that you would be willing to send to my Delta skymiles number. Rodney Wojciechowski
SkyMiles #2686517380

Two years ago when we came home I had saved enough miles for Phimpha and I to fly round trip from Seattle to MN. We only had to get to Seattle from Thailand so it saved us a lot then. I am not sure how many miles it is from Thailand to MN but if we do enough that would be great. I currently have 21,280 miles that I can use for Delta or its partner airlines.

I want to throw this out to you all, as most of you receiving this are the one’s who donate to us.When you all send donations to His ministry here we take out 10 percent for tithe and give some to our church and the rest to the servants of God we know. Those servants we personally know who work a lot but do not get anything for salary or very little. Gods servants here are usually the poorest of poor that we see around us. Most would be far better off with a steady job, but then they would not be Gods servants would they. They like us have to make the choice every day to serve him and not look to comforts of the world. We help where we can and when we can to encourage them to continue His work for the kingdom. Many times it is lonely for them. Because Phimpha and I are also servants and not paid a salary I would like to ask permission from all of you to use some of our tithe money to save up for a ticket home for Phimpha and I. We would not keep all the tithe every month just some. It will take a long time to get enough to get home but eventually we would get there. I have no income of any kind and neither does Phimpha. No savings to tap or retirement of any kind to draw out, so we are hoping this is agreeable with those who donate to us here. If you do not think this is OK with God let us
know. We have prayed about it and feel it is OK to do.

We have 4 people coming next month to volunteer with us for a while. I pray the airport remains open and we do not need to use a boat to pick them up. Two from Australia and two from America. The kids are excited, as always to get volunteers coming to stay a while. They really get excited when it is someone who was here before. If you have never donated your time pleas volunteer for something. Your time to someone in need means so much more than you can imagine. It makes them feel like they have some self worth. You both will remember it always. I have a lot more I could tell you all but then these updates get to long. I wish there was a way to relay all that happens here in just one day. Most days it would be a small book in itself.

Blessings To All
Rodney and Phimpha and the kids.

Youth Camp Prayers

We kick off youth camp today through Monday. Please pray for the newcomers and our children as well, that they will get closer to the big man upstairs. Not sure how many are coming. Not a lot we think but we never know.

Lots of flooding around Thailand with more rains on the way an dams upstream that are releasing water, so rivers are rising. We are OK at Timothy House but many friends are vacating or living on the second floor. It is a real mess in places. Worst ever for many.

Add cold showers to the list of things to get used to when living here. I am not there yet.

Rodney and Phimpha

Can you get used to? Wet toilet seat?

Just one of the things ya get used to here. Most bathroom do not have toilet paper so one must use a sprayer to clean off. I actually like it better now that I have gotten used to it. PS. If you have boys and the water on the seat is yellow. Wash the seat off with sprayer first then sit down.

Being cold at 70. Maybe my age has something to do with that. I am used to the humidity for the most part. I remember stepping out of the airport for the first time thinking, man it is humid here. I could never live here. God is still laughing about that one.

Ants on your plate, in your food, bed, biting your feet, living under your mattress, a colony of them, a colony in your shoes overnight. There are ants here that I call homeless. They just congregate in a dry dark place and carry their eggs with them where ever they go. I always pond out my shoes in the morning. Had many frogs and toads and ants and scorpions. Put my welding gloves on the other day and forgot to pound them out. I felt something in one of the finger holes and quickly withdrew. After some prying and coxing a five inch centipede crawled out. They are the biting kind that Thai’s are afraid of. I have learned to respect anything the kids are afraid of. They know because they play with bugs all the time. Now is the big beetle time of year. They are about two inches long and bigger than my thumb. The kids catch them and keep them as pets. Making them fight each other and feeding them fruit. They do pinch but not hard enough to stop them from playing with them.

One night a while back a jakajohn few into the room at night. Lot and Green and Ahm started playing with it. It makes a very loud noise when you touch it or pick it up. They are harmless but very loud and vibrate, so if you grab one for the first time you immediately drop it when it screeches. They have played with them before but this time they were pretending to be afraid of it. They chased that thing around laughing and running for half an hour. It flew out many times but kept coming back for more abuse. Finally Lot ran over and just smacked it on the floor with his hand and that was the end.

Bugs crawling on you. Sometimes I just keep working and wait for them to fly off. If they don’t fly after a while I will brush off whatever it is because then it is probably an ant and will bite you.

Geko’s on the ceiling pooping in your food plate below or on you. One landed in my soup. I fished it out and kept eating. Hey! I was hungry.

The slow pace here is a good thing to get used to but many times frustrating for me. Being the chauffeur and an American I want to get going. Elephants in the yard, snakes anywhere any time. Our worker (Anunn) was cutting grass the other day and came across a snake he came across and tied up to show us when we came home. I would never have approached it. It was over ten feet long and was bigger around then my thigh. A very large Python. They make a very loud hissing noise when riled up. He somehow got it into a sack and dropped it deep in the forest. Sorry it was gone before I got a picture.

There are a lot of things one gets used to here that I never thought I would have to in my lifetime.

Spicy food! I now seek out some chilies or the food tastes flat. I Thank God most every night for a soft mattress and real pillow and a roof above that does not leak. A mosquito net is a real plus too. Spent last night on the floor of the church. Lots of mosquitoes.

I won’t even get into the driving. Lets just say it keeps the heart pumping.

Living in Thailand has been a huge blessing for me as well as hurt (from missing family). If you ever get the chance to spend a lot of time in a foreign country try to do it like the natives do, not the tourist, and you will go away with a changed life.

Side note: Our Youth camp this week from 12-17. Keep it in your prayers. Like our schedule wasn’t busy enough.

Blessings to all Rodney and Phimpha

Persecution? Always!

Hi to All our friends.
Got a lot of response from the blank email I accidental sent. We
will see what this gets.
Waiting for rain to quit. Getting a lot more Internet time with
my new job. I wait a lot so might as well write.
We are under some more persecution as of these last few months.
Never ceases to amaze me how those who call themselves Christians are
so quick to persecute friends, just to save face. Saving face here
or, protecting ones image, is I believe, the worst part of this
culture. Especially for Christians. It is so ingrained in the rearing
up of the children here that they will lie or slander or due what ever
it takes, to bring down anyone that they feel makes them look bad.
They throw the Christian values they are supposed to be living under
away, just to save face. Sad part of it is, I think some of them
actually believe they are doing a good thing for God. They are so
hooked by satans lies they think they are working for God. We are not
saints. We are sinners like the rest of the world. But I know for
certain we do not do anything to deserve the persecution that we are
always hearing. We have become accustomed to it. We do not waste time
fighting back. That is what satan wants. He wants us to waste our time
defending ourselves and fighting with others that were at one time
good friends. Make all Christians look bad. Please Pray for the
situation! For us to learn what the Holy Spirit of God wants us to
learn! Phimpha was appointed by the Holy Spirit to the position she
is now in. That is a fact that many will verify. Those persecuting us
do not think she should be there.

Mark 2 22-30
28 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of
man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes
against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an
eternal sin”— 30 for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Mathew 12: 31-32
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven
people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but
whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in
this age or in the age to come.

I truly believe that if those who are persecuting us now, were to
die today, they would not see his kingdom. And all just so they can
look good in this world. Pleas pray that they will turn back to God so
He can heal them. We do not wish for any to perish. We are trying to
keep all Christians together. That is very hard to do here. But we
must do, because that is the one way to show we are children of God.
If your life is going easy with no persecution perhaps you need
to step it up a notch for Gods work. Jesus said it best, That the
student is not above the teacher. If they persecuted me they will
persecute you. We must be on the right track because we get a lot of
it. They are fighting against God and the Holy Spirit, not against us,
so we do not need the prayers but they certainly do. God will protect
Phimpha wants me to tell you how impressed she is about how God
works behind the scenes for us, even when we do not know it. She spoke
to a friend recently who she had not spoken to for 4 years and he said
he had many times felt the need to pray for her, though he did not
know where she was now, or what was going on with her. But he must
pray. He had tried to contact her and find her but could not. We
happened to call where he used to work looking for him and he had been
brought back from retirement to help out there. We will meet with him
on Monday to get to the bottom of another situation that God put her
in the middle of. Two Christians claiming the same thing by letters.
One is obviously falsifying letters.
I am going to throw this out there. Not really sure if I should
but I will. We are hoping to come back to the states in the next few
months but we can not use donation money sent for our ministry and
kids here for our very personal use. Just does not sit right with us.
If anyone has a burden to help us get back to the states for a visit
we would appreciate the help. I will have to set up a place to send it
to separate from our ministry, or to be more accurate, someplace
Phimpha can not get her hands on it and give it to the needy. We also
have needs at times. We have not been home for a couple of years and
would like to visit. Some of my family is not getting any younger.
Unlike me on the other hand. (OK, maybe I am aging a little) Takes
about three thousand for airfare for her and I round trip.

Blessings To you all.

Rodney and Phimpha

Prayers Please!

Phimpha asked me to send out prayer requests. She is feeling
burdened and needs other to join with us in Prayer for the things we
think we need to do His work here. Sometimes we pray and get answers
quick, other times not quick but they come, other times they do not
come so I guess those are the ones He figures we can do with out.
We have been doing a lot of traveling so another vehicle would be
real nice. We have a neighbor taking some of the kids to school and
the rest take the bus, but it is costly to do When Phimpha and I go
out we visit many places so it is almost imposable to get much done
with public transportation. We are connecting with a lot of Churches
and most of them are in need of help. We use our tithe money to give
to the servants of God we meet who do not have enough support. Some
days it is like the poor helping the poor. We have been getting in
some donation as of late and I wish I could say we are doing great but
more coming in just means more going out.
We now have 4 staff and that is enough for now. Maybe one too
many but we will wait to see how it works out. The young girl Som who
went to do factory work returned to us. She still needs schooling
along with working with us but she is doing good on both. Then we have
Dawn from the attempted rape case who now works with us. And then we
have the older couple from church who are managing the place. He does
maintenance so that is a blessing. So far they have been doing a great
job. They were looking real tired at first and we were worried they
would leave but now with some extra help they are looking better. He
is working on the new dorm while I am out with Phimpha on other
ministry work. The ministry is defiantly expanding fast and we are
praying God keeps us supplied without the extra stress of not having
enough day to day. The salary for just the staff comes to 28,500.00 a
month. That is less than a thousand dollars a month 4 four workers
full time. They do not always get paid and when they do they end up
using most on the daily needs of the kids. They have the right heart
to work with us. At least the two older ones. If people come to us
looking for just a job they do not last long. It is 24/7 work. Same as
parenting with a lot of extra work thrown in on the side. We and them
have no day off. We try to give them some breaks now and then but it
is not much. Many say they like working with kids till they come to
us. Then most run after a few days or weeks. When they see what we do
and the outside ministry besides they think we are nuts. Maybe just a
little crazy for God.
We would like to get some instruments at home for our kids to
practice with. (Timothy House Band) I am amazed at how good they sound
during services at our church. They have only been at it a few months
but kids pick things up quick. Unlike old Dad here who struggles with
just the language.
The twins are learing Thai quick but with me gone so much their
English is lacking. We have a young volunteer coming maybe in Nov so I
am hoping she can help me with that. They speak to me in Thai, I
answer what I understand in English and they answer me back in Thai.
Can not get them to use the English yet but they understand a lot of
it. They are teaching me Thai now.
Pray for direction for the Women’s Ministry . Phimpha has been
praying and God tells her he will do something new with the group but
has not told her what that is yet. The committee is meeting the 7 and
8th of next month for Prayer and fasting to know his will. The old
committee had ways of raising funds for the group that Phimpha does
not agree with so also pray for financial help for that part of the
work. We have to separate the two ministries as soon as possible. God
knows the needs but when it is coming only He knows. Seems to me He is
late a lot but I can not argue with God. I do get frustrated with Him
but he doesn’t listen much to my whimpering. Must sound like a little
kid to Him.
I do truly Thank those who have been giving to us. Some we know
about and others we do not. The money just comes, Thank God!! Many
have been giving a lot and we thank them for their trust in us and His
ministry here. Our main purpose is still the same. Save souls for
Christ by helping them. It really works. We have been doing a lot of
revival lately as well. Bringing those who are disheartened with God
back to Him. Hoping our children will grow to continue the work. OK
this is getting real long and I must go pick up the boss so keep us in
Prayer and I’ll catch ya all later.

Blessings To All
Phimpha and Rodney and the rest of the team/kids.

Spare time?

Really!! we have a little extra time so I will write a little
again. We are waiting for the truck to get fixed, then we are off to
the Burma border for a few days, for many things that we need to do
there. Phimpha’s schedule is filling up so we are going while we have
a few days free before the chaos gets worse. It has been raining here
a lot as September is the worst month. Pushed the motor bike through
knee deep water going to church yesterday. It is now getting fixed too
by the neighbor kid. Lots of flooding around Thailand. I hope we can
get to where we want to go without having to swim in the dirty waters.
We are badly in need of another vechile. We are making two trips now
to church to get everyone there. Some people are coming from a near by
village with us so it is a good problem to have just no solution yet.
Also when we go out like today we leave 20 or so at home with just a
motorcycle to get around. Not good, but what to do? We were going to
get a rental car but nothing available at the place we have rented
from before. Pray about that for us. God knows what we need and he
put Phimpha in this new job so her needs to be responsible.
The forest people dug a ditch around the village to stop the
elephants from coming in to eat all the people’s fields and gardens
but it did not work. They cross and get around it. Slows them down but
when they are hungry they come.
I had a lot to say but the guy next to me is smoking non stop so I
will catch you all later.

Rodney and Phimpha out and about

Because I can

I am writing this because I have a few minutes and I am at the
Internet shop so I can actually send it out. Just a little info on
the happenings here. Looks like Gods new job for Phimpha is not going
to be easy but he is holding her up so she is moving forward. Many
nights home after 9 pm then off again the next day. For some reason
(God power) she has been working more but is less tired. Her closing
eyelids have stoped closing so that means she is getting enough rest
when she does rest. That is a good thing as I was thinking she was
going down any day. It looks like the Ministry is going to divide into
two parts. One being the children and the home base and the other the
work God wants her to do now. As near as she can figure right now He
wants her to bring the people at the churches back together then the
churches together and to go out to the local communities and start
showing the love of Christ to anyone in need. That will mean many
things, but one I see is there will be more kids coming, because that
is the nature of the work. So the dorm will fill quickly. She is going
to be praying and fasting this Thursday thru Friday looking for
confirmation from Him on what she has been getting so far. Then next
month she will pray with her committee for a couple of days and
compare the results to come up with the next step. She is not sitting
still in the mean time. She is speaking to many and we are out
encouraging her team to get them on the road back to Christ. The
woman’s group was around 400 but is down to less than 200 now. She
knows how to encourage people and bring them back to Christ. She knows
how to be a servant to the community, the poor, the oppressed. She
fears no one with God behind her. She one time spoke to the leader of
the Army in the whole northern region. He asked her when she seen him.
“Aren’t you afraid to talk to me. I am high in rank and many fear me.”
She said she was not afraid. He was shocked. Put down his phone and
asked, “What do you want from me.” She told him to protect the
children she was working with and have his solders watch out for them.
He has done that and more. He said many people want to meet with him
and try hard to make an appointment. He said I don’t know why I let
you come see me on the drop of a hat. She just smiles because she
knows why. If you are in His will you can do anything. But you have to
go out first. Do not contemplate what must be done first, or make big
plans, just go and he will make it happen. That is faith. We see it
first hand everyday.
Ok she just called and I am the chauffeur so gotta go.

God Bless to all and keep the prayers coming.
